With so many things to do at Ijams, you'll never be bored! From hiking the trails and playing at Jo's Grove to paddling at Mead's Quarry Lake and working out at the Ijams Primal Playground, there's something for everyone at Ijams. The grounds are open from 8 am to dusk every day. Get a trail map or see closures before you come!
Ijams features 12+ miles of trails ranging from easy to difficult. Some are paved, but most are mulched, natural walkways.
The Ijams Crag is Knoxville’s only outdoor rock climbing area.
Mountain biking and road biking are both options at Ijams Nature Center.
The Ijams Nature Playscape at Grayson Subaru Preserve and Jo's Grove are wonderful places for children to explore, but just about anywhere you go on the grounds is a fun place to play and learn about nature.
Paddle & Swim
Rent a paddle and swim at Mead's Quarry Lake or launch your own kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddle board from Ijams' River Landing.
In addition to paddling, biking, climbing, and running, try out the new Ijams Primal Playground, a scalable green exercise space guaranteed to give you a great workout!
