About the Event

**NOTE: This session is limited to 15 participants. If you are not registered and there are 15 participants, you will be asked to come another time or will be given a different assignment.

Lenten rose and fig buttercup are the focus of this month's Ijams Weed Warriors Workday. Originally introduced as ornamentals, these plants crowd out native species.  Help the Ijams Natural Resource team remove Lenten rose and fig buttercup around the Lotus Pond at this volunteer workday!

Volunteers will meet at the parking lot near the Miller Building (Ijams family homesite).  To get there, enter Ijams' main entrance and immediately turn left on the interior access road to get to the parking area closest to the Miller Building. Wear closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved shirts, and pants to protect yourself from thorns and poison ivy. BRING WATER!

Ijams Weed Warriors workdays are designed to give volunteers hands-on experience with invasive species removal techniques and expand their knowledge of invasive plants, their history, and their impact on native habitats, native replacement options, and more. This program is made possible by the Aslan Foundation.

Please bring the following: water, appropriate clothing/footwear, and a mask if you have one (the Ijams Visitor Center has simple disposable masks if you come without one). Masks will only be necessary when volunteers are within six feet of each other. If you are exhibiting any sign of fever or illness, do not participate in this workday. Tools and gloves will be provided.

Meeting Spot: Ijams Miller Building Parking Lot (Ijams Family Homesite)
