About the Event
**NOTE: This session is limited to 15 participants. If you are not registered and there are 15 participants, you will be asked to come another time or will be given a different assignment.
Meet the Ijams Natural Resource Management team at the main overflow parking lot across the street from the Ijams Visitor Center by 9:30 am and then hike the newly created trail to the Dunn Street hill, where you'll help tackle English ivy, one of Ijams' top four invasive plant species. Volunteers will learn to identify English ivy and be trained in removal techniques. The goal of this workday is to remove this noxious invader, giving native plants a chance to thrive.
Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved shirts, and long pants to protect themselves from thorns and poison ivy. BRING WATER! Tools and gloves will be provided.
Meeting Spot: Ijams Nature Center (Overflow Parking), 2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville, TN 37920
