Trail Volunteer Workday on Discovery Trail 11/27/21 (REGISTRATION REQUIRED) (1)

**NOTE:  This session is limited to 15 participants. If you are not registered and there are 15 participants, you will be asked to come another time or will be given a different assignment.

It's mulch time in Tennessee! This trail volunteer workday is focused on resurfacing the Discovery Trail, and if you love getting outdoors, working your body and making a difference, this session is for you!

Volunteers will meet at the parking lot near the Miller Building (Ijams family homesite).  To get there, enter Ijams' main entrance (where the Visitor Center is) and immediately turn left on the interior access road to get to the parking area closest to the Miller Building. Wear closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved shirts and pants to protect yourself from thorns and poison ivy. BRING WATER!

Please bring a mask if you have one (the Ijams Visitor Center has simple disposable masks if you come without one), be sure to dress appropriately to protect from poison ivy and thorns, and bring some water! Masks will only be necessary when we are within six feet of each other. If you are exhibiting any sign of fever or illness, do not participate in this workday. Tools and gloves will be provided.

Those who are under 16 years old cannot volunteer by themselves at Ijams; they must be accompanied by an adult for all volunteer opportunities.

Those who are 16 & 17 can participate in public volunteer workdays as long as they have a parent's or guardian's permission. Please email sshorey@ijams.org for the permission sheet. Thank you!
