Description: This class dives into the incredible diversity of plants and fungi found in Tennessee! Our faculty will help you learn botanical terms, taxonomy, and identification as you investigate particular plant & fungi communities around Ijams Nature Center. Join us as we ground our basic knowledge of plants and fungi, and practice with keys and field guides so you can take this knowledge home and share it with others.
Materials Participants Should Bring: Participants should bring their nature journal, hand lens, sturdy shoes, weather appropriate clothes, water, snacks, lunch, binoculars, and a hands free way to carry all of this.
Information to Note: This class will be almost entirely outside, so please dress appropriately. REGISTRATION FOR 2022 HAS CLOSED. If you are interested in registering for 2023, contact jmcguigan@ijams.org for more information.
