About the Event
Participants will get the chance to understand the science behind flowers, investigating flower anatomy, the pollination process, and how to identify native wildflowers. The Ijams naturalists will teach about historical, medicinal, and cultural uses of each wildflower as the group encounters them and as a conclusion to our program, each child will create their own flower-inspired art piece!
This program is perfect for Junior Girl Scouts focusing on the Flowers Badge.
Ecosystem Explorers Series: The Ecosystem Explorers Series is a series of outdoor, experiential education programs created for children of various ages. Throughout the year, children will get to explore different topics like birds, pollinators, eco-art, and more with their family through short, impactful programs meant to foster creativity and curiosity of the natural world. There is no commitment to join for each program, but families are encouraged to join for as many as possible!
