About the Event

Ijams is proud to partner with CAC Beardsley Community Farm as part of Ijams' 2021 Take Action! series, and this month features a Natural Dyeing with Indigo Workshop!

Riley Douglas from the Museum of Infinite Outcomes will provide an introduction to the world of indigo and teach you basic shibori dyeing styles. She'll create a reduction bath using natural Japanese indigo that is grown at the Museum of Infinite Outcomes here in Knoxville. Each participant will need to bring one item of clothing (100% cotton shirt or bandana) or will have the option to buy and dye a Beardsley Farm shirt.

This workshop is at CAC Beardsley Community Farm (1741 Reynolds St, Knoxville, TN 37921) and costs $40 per person. You must purchase a ticket in advance to reserve your spot. Masks are required for indoor workshops. For outdoor workshops, please bring a mask just in case you are in close proximity to other participants.

If you are in need of financial assistance to attend this workshop, please email Sarah Brobst at sbrobst@ijams.org
