About the Event
Ijams Nature Center is delighted to present Viva la Mamma!, a Musical Tribute to Mothers, by Knoxville Opera on the Pavilion Lawn on Sunday, May 8 at 3:00 p.m. The diverse program features American, Irish, Spanish, and Italian songs in addition to selections from Porgy and Bess, Carmen, and much more!
Knoxville Opera Artistic Director Brian Salesky will host and accompany soprano Jacqueline Brecheen and tenor Tim Pope. Parking is available in the main lot by the Visitor Center (2915 Island Home Avenue) and in adjacent lots along Island Home Avenue. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs or sit on the lawn. In the event of rain at performance time, the event may be postponed to a later date.
Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Admission may also be paid at the entrance to the Pavilion Lawn area on the day of the performance.
