Celebrate all things wings at the 2021 Ijams Hummingbird Festival, presented by Ergon Terminaling Inc. and The Trust Company of Tennessee! You'll have a great time while you learn about the wonder of wildlife with wings!
BEHIND-THE-SCENES AT THE FESTIVAL 7 AM - 12 PM
Bird Banding Station - Get a behind-the scenes look at how scientists capture birds, how they are banded, and why banding is important with certified master bander Mark Armstrong! This year, the bird banding station will capture ALL birds, including hummingbirds! Remember: Like most birds, hummingbirds are MOST ACTIVE early in the morning, so your best chance of seeing a ruby-throated hummingbird is at the beginning of the event! NOTE: To ensure your safety, entry for the bird banding station will be scheduled in 30-minute sessions and attendance will be limited in each group to ensure an excellent, safe experience. PLEASE…
