About the Event
Audience: Adults and Families; Ages 6+
Being mindful and listening for sounds in nature can open up a whole world of wonder. We will take a hike on trails at Ijams Nature Center, stopping at certain areas to be present and listen to the sounds of nature around us. We will practice being present in the moment while hiking and appreciating the diversity of life that our ears reveal to us. We will also do a few sound mapping activities, so please bring a notebook to write/draw in and a writing utensil!
Materials Participants Should Bring: Notebook and writing utensil for sound mapping. Water and good shoes for walking. Binoculars if you have them. We will be outside during the entire program so bring what will make you comfortable (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.).
No walk-ins will be accepted.
