About the Event

**NOTE: This session is limited to 15 participants. If you are not registered and there are 15 participants, you will be asked to come another time or will be given a different assignment.

Volunteers will meet at Mead's Quarry Adventure Camp and then take a short walk to the Grayson Subaru Preserve to remove non-native, invasive plants from the property that soon will become a nature playscape for children! Wear closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved shirts and pants to protect yourself from thorns and poison ivy. BRING WATER!

Please bring the following: water, appropriate clothing/footwear, and a mask if you have one (the Ijams Visitor Center has simple disposable masks if you come without one). Masks will only be necessary when we are within six feet of each other. If you are exhibiting any sign of fever or illness, do not participate in this workday. Gloves will be provided.

Meeting Spot: Mead's Quarry Parking Lot (Adventure Camp)

3518 Island Home Ave. Knoxville, TN 37920

Those who are under 16 years old cannot volunteer by themselves at Ijams; they must be accompanied by an adult for all volunteer opportunities.

Those who are 16 & 17 can participate in public volunteer workdays as long as they have a parent's or guardian's permission. Please email chassil@ijams.org for the permission sheet. Thank you!
