Ijams Night Hike: Winter Solstice Hike (family program)

Recommended for Ages 6 and up

Description: The winter solstice provides just under ten hours of sunlight this year. In all of this darkness, it can be easy to forget that the first day of winter truly is a night of beginning. Join Ijams for a night hike where you'll experience the forest on the longest night of the year and celebrate the promise of longer days to come.

Materials Participants Should Bring: Comfortable trail walking shoes, weather appropriate clothing, a flashlight, water bottle, and a snack.

Information to Note: This is a night hike that covers trails with roots and rocks. Participants should be prepared to walk upwards of a mile in low light conditions.

Location: This program meets outside the Ijams Nature Center. We will spend the entirety of the program outdoors.

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
