Ijams Night Hike: Summer Solstice (Family Program)

Ijams Night Hikes are recommended for ages 6 and up

Description: Join an Ijams naturalist for a nighttime hike around Ijams Nature Center. The days have been getting longer, and soon the summer solstice will be upon us. The hike will start at twilight, and continue past dusk as the trails become a playground for nocturnal critters. Let your eyes adjust to the dark and watch as the night world bursts to life. There is no way to predict what you may find out on a night hike at Ijams.

Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, flashlight, and weather appropriate clothes

Information to Note: This is a night hike that covers trails with roots and rocks. Participants should be prepared to walk upwards of a mile in low light conditions.

Directions: This Ijams Night Hike meets at the Mead's Quarry Parking Lot. 

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
