About the Event
Recommended for ages 16 and up
Description: Spring is full of beautiful colors but capturing these colors on paper sometimes can feel like a daunting task. With the help of spring wildflowers and new leaves, this Ijams Field Day will introduce participants to the basics of watercolor painting including tips on mixing colors, composing a painting, and enjoying the spring weather with a paintbrush in hand. This is a beginner course led by Ijams teacher/naturalist and amateur painter Eliza Phillips.
Materials Participants Should Bring: Comfortable trail walking shoes, hat, water bottle, snacks, weather appropriate clothing, and a handss-free way to carry everything. Optional: camera, hand lens. Watercolor paper, paints, and brushes will be provided; however, participants are welcome to bring their own.
Information to Note: This program will take us in search of spring ephemeral wildflowers and will likely take place on trails with roots, rocks, and some elevation change.…
