Recommended for ages 18 and up

Description: Ijams Adult Field Days are a chance for naturalists of all levels to take time to delve deeper into all manner of natural topics. This class will cover the amazing nocturnal world of moths during National Moth Week. This is a Citizen Science Event targeting moth species across the world. Together we will learn how to identify common moths, how to attract them, and their evolutionary history and ecology. 

Materials Participants Should Bring: Smartphone or camera, flashlight, a journal to take notes, weather appropriate clothing, water bottle, and late night snacks. 

Information to Note:  This is a late night program so take a nap to be fresh and ready for our beautiful moths and other nocturnal insects.. 

Location: This program meets at Ijams Nature Center at the outdoor pavilion and backporch. 

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. 

Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
