Ijams Field Day: BioBlitz

This program is recommended for ages 16 and up

Description: Ijams' BioBlitz's are designed to help Ijams Natural Resource Management Team have a clearer view of the animals and plants that call Ijams home. We get to spend the morning taking pictures of everything we see and uploading it to the iNaturalist app. We have already catalogued over 1,000 species at Ijams Nature Center, and we need your help to find more. This information helps Ijams better manage its land for all the living things at Ijams.

Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, binoculars (Ijams can provide binoculars as needed), journal, something to write with, and a smartphone or camera.

Information to Note: This is a walk through the woods and poison ivy is likely. Please bring long pants and sleeves, and Ijams will have products on hand to wash off poison ivy oils. 

Directions: This program meets at the Ijams overflow lot across from the main entrance.

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
