About the Event
Audience: Families with children ages 6+
Escape the summer heat by walking one of Ijams' creeks with a naturalist! You'll enjoy the cool water, catch local fish, crayfish, and aquatic insects, and learn more about creek health. Materials Participants Should Bring: Closed-toe shoes/water shoes with rubber soles (NOT flip-flops as these come off and wash away, and things can easily poke through them), swim trunks, clothes to get wet/muddy, change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and water with a hands-free way to carry it.
No walk-ins will be accepted.
Directions: Stay on Island Home Ave, do not turn into Ijams Nature Center. After the railroad tracks, turn right into the parking area for the quarries and trails.
