CREATIVE SERIES: Log Cultivation Workshop

Join Everything Mushrooms for a casual, hands-on mushroom cultivation experience and create your own shiitake mushroom log! The cost is $35 per log per ticket.

Instruction will include a quick tune-up on using powered drills, and demonstrations on the proper techniques for drilling and plugging recently cut hardwoods with fresh mushroom plug spawn. The “mushroom log” will require about 1.5 years of incubation before it begins production, but once it begins fruiting, you can expect mushrooms several times a year for years to come!

You'll also learn about proper care, maintenance, and tips on provoking mushroom harvests, harvesting techniques, and more. Shiitake mushroom logs are an exciting way to recycle recently cut hardwoods and use shaded garden areas to produce healthy and nutritious food!
