About the Event
Every year on April 22, people around the country recognize Earth Day, a holiday meant to celebrate the natural world and recognize the importance of preserving nature around the world. To celebrate Earth Day 2026, participants in this generative creative writing workshop, hosted by Shelby Hansen, will have the opportunity to explore nature, learn about local plants and wildlife in East Tennessee, and reflect inwardly on their own connection to the natural world followed by a quick hike and open mic session.
This free event is open to writers of all backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels. Participants can bring their own journal or writing supplies if they would like, but it is not necessary to attend. There will have supplies for you to use.
