About the Event
**(NOTE: We are limiting this to 10 participants. If you are not registered and we are over the limit of participants, we will ask you to come another time or give you a different assignment)
There is only one thing more terrifying than being torn to pieces by a beast lurking at the bottom of Mead's Quarry lake and that is.....Wisteria!! Â Come see the horrifying vine that threatens to slowly take over, while also visiting the Stanton Cemetery where even the dead look on in horror at the prettiest little purple disaster that was ever planted! (Well...next to kudzu)
Â
Volunteers will learn about Wisteria, where it came from, how it spreads, the threat it poses for our native plants, and how to defeat it! Long sleeve shirts and pants are recommended to protect from thorns and poison ivy. Bring water!Â
Please bring the following: water, appropriate clothing/footwear, and a mask if you have one (Ijams Visitor Center has simple disposable masks if you come without one). Masks will only be necessary when we are within six feet of each other. If you are exhibiting any sign of fever or illness, do not participate in this workday. Tools and gloves will be provided.
