Birding in Place - Global Big Day

Join an Ijams for birding's biggest day of the year! Ijams is excited to offer more accessible birding workshops. With an Ijams naturalist, you’ll learn how to bird during an approachable, fun-filled morning in a stationary location, identifying a myriad of bird species by sight and sound. This program is great for complete beginners and bird enthusiasts alike!

This program is geared towards those who face mobility challenges, but open to all! For individual accessibility needs, please contact Kat Livar at klivar@ijams.org before purchasing your tickets.

Ages: This program is designed for ages 14+

Accessibility: Participants can expect to travel a distance of up to 500 ft. from the parking lot to the program destination over asphalt. Van-accessible parking spaces will be available; please indicate if you require a van-accessible parking space when purchasing tickets.  There are four regular accessible parking spaces at the Ijams Visitor Center.

Accessible restroom stalls are located in the Visitor Center. This building does not currently have ADA push-buttons for opening doors.  

Chairs will be provided by Ijams, but participants may also bring their own.

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
