About the Event
Take your first (or tenth) flight out of the nest and into the world of fall migration! The October 2026 Big Day challenges folks to identify and record as many bird species as possible in specific locations. With an Ijams naturalist, you’ll learn how to bird during an approachable, fun-filled morning hiking on the trails, identifying a myriad of bird species by sight and sound, and recording those findings on the eBird app. This program is great for complete beginners and bird enthusiasts alike!
Ages: This program is designed for ages 14+
Accessibility: Participants can expect to travel a distance of up to 2.5 miles during the duration of the program over uneven surfaces that may include rocks, roots, and gravel. This program includes various stopping points.
