About the Event
Beginning to Bird is designed for ages 11 and up
Description: Ijams Beginning to Bird helps you as you take or re-take your first steps into the world of bird watching. This month, you'll open your ears to the calls, songs, chirps, and chats of birds. Their chorus can be overwhelming, with dozens of calls being made at once. YOu'll learn how to pick out one or two songs, and focus your attention. You won't learn every song, but you can start building your vocabulary.
Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, binoculars (Ijams can provide binoculars as needed), and bird field guide
Information to Note: This is a bird walk and we will go on trails with roots, rocks, and some elevation change. Arrive ready to walk approximately .75 to 1 miles.
Directions: We will meet outside the Ijams Visitor Center on the main plaza.
No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
