About the Event

Beginning to Bird is designed for ages 11 and up

Description: Ijams Beginning to Bird helps you as you take or re-take your first steps into the world of bird watching. This month we are filling our plate with how birds get their food. Birds use many different behaviors to find their food, as well as their unique body parts. Together we will learn about how birds get their food, and go on a walk to view some of these behaviors in the wild.

Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, binoculars (Ijams can provide binoculars as needed), and bird field guide

Information to Note: This is a bird walk and we will go on trails with roots, rocks, and some elevation change. Arrive ready to walk approximately .75 to 1 miles.

Directions: We will meet outside the Ijams Visitor Center on the main plaza.

No walk-in’s will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult

Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
