Ijams Brings Nature Education to You!
Can’t make it to Ijams Nature Center for a field trip? Ijams can come to you! Ijams’ naturalists and environmental educators can bring an animal ambassador presentation to your classroom or outdoor space.
Bring the natural world to your community with our live animal ambassador outreach programs. Designed for both children and adults, these engaging, interactive presentations foster curiosity, build connections to nature, and inspire a lifelong appreciation for wildlife.

SCHEDULING AN OUTREACH PROGRAM*

Ijams schedules outreach programs by Google form request on a first-come, first-served basis.

Contact Youth Programs Coordinator at fieldtrips@ijams.org for information about animal outreach program booking, reservations, and program content.

* A group must have a minimum of 10 students or people to register for an outreach program.
​
​Travel Fee: Travel fees apply to locations over 20 miles away (one way) from Ijams (2915 Island Home Ave. Knoxville, TN 37920). Rates start at $30 dollars for distances 21-30 miles away and increases to $40 for 31-40 miles of travel.
OUTREACH AND FIELD TRIP SCHOLARSHIPS
Ijams has funding available for scholarships and transportation for schools that qualify. There also are other ways for educators to request funding for field trips, transportation, and outreach programs. The following document offers suggestions and includes a sample letter.
