SPECIAL EVENT: H.A.L.T. Dog Adoption Event at Ijams (April 20)

Join H.A.L.T ( Humans and Animals Learning Together) at Ijams Nature Center on April 20 from 1-3pm outside of the visitor center. Come out to meet their new “Fab 5” that will be participating in class this session. They are looking for their furever homes!

This session includes Annie Oakley, Maverick, Calamity Jane, and Whistle.

All dogs are medically screened, fully vaccinated, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and will have beginner basic obedience training at the end of their 4-week course. Through the four-week course, instructors help teen trainers teach

basic obedience to the dogs. The trainers are adolescents from residential centers, and may be there for treatment of substance or physical abuse, behavioral or alienation problems. Dogs are adopted into suitable homes at the end of the class session. We are accepting applications and will work on home visits while classes are going on. All dogs will be able to go to their new homes after graduations.

All breeds and ages are the best guess from our Dog Selection Committee and Veterinarian.
