Join Ijams naturalists for a night of s'mores, constellation spotting, and watching the most prolific meteor shower of the year: the Perseids!

Enjoy an early morning on the lawn during the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower as Ijams naturalists delve into the myths behind our sky's constellations, the science behind meteor showers, and so much more. In between stargazing, head to the back patio for s'mores, hot chocolate, and other treats! We'll also have a blacklight moth cloth set up to see what nocturnal critters we can attract!

What to Bring: Camp chair, blankets, pillows, or anything else that will make you comfortable for outdoor star gazing on the lawn! Bug spray is also recommended. 

Ages: This program is designed for ages 12+

Accessibility: This program is largely stationary, taking place on a grass lawn and paved outdoor spaces. 

Parking: Parking for this Ijams Education Course is free for all participants. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the course begins to obtain a free parking pass upon check-in. Refund Policy: No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Ijams only awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
