Off-Trail Adventures (Family Programs)

Audience Geared Toward: Adults and Families; Ages 6+

During this one-of-a-kind adventure, participants scramble through rocks and boulders left behind by historic quarry operations, explore hidden cave entrances, and experience a side of Ijams that is unknown to most people.

Materials Participants Should Bring/Wear: Closed-toe shoes with durable rubber soles with good traction (sneakers, hiking boots, cross-training shoes, etc), other clothing that is comfortable for the weather, supportive of athletic movements, and okay to get muddy, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, water and a hands-free way to carry it.

Directions: Stay on Island Home Ave, do not turn into Ijams Nature Center. After the railroad tracks, turn right into the parking area for the quarries and trails.

No walk-in’s will be accepted. 

Every participant must have a ticket. 

Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to severe weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
