About the Event
Geared Toward: Families with children ages 3-5
If you’re looking for a wonderful place for your preschooler to spend at least half of their day outdoors, make plans to attend this open house for the Nature Preschool at Ijams Nature Center Sunday, July 12, from noon-4 pm.
Ijams’ nature preschool has always focused on providing children with an immersive outdoor experience, but it’s even more important during a pandemic. Preschoolers not only receive traditional and child-centered academics but also get to exercise in fresh air while they play in puddles, search for wildlife in creeks, hike, and experience the wonder of the world.
Administrator and Lead Teacher Leslee Moore will be on the porch of the Miller Building to answer questions from a safe distance and families will enter the preschool for individual tours while masked (only children over 12 and adults need to be masked).
School starts Aug. 10 and runs Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Nature Preschool at Ijams Nature Center has added the option of aftercare from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for families who need extended hours. A full safety plan is in place to care for families during COVID.
No registration is required to attend an open house, but if you'd like to provide your name and email, you're welcome to do so by going to the Registration page.
Can't make it? Those unable to attend an open house may schedule an in-person or virtual tour by contacting Leslee Moore at 865-679-5491 or email@example.com. Space is filling quickly, so don't wait!
Directions: After turning into the main entrance of Ijams Nature Center, turn left and immediately turn left again to take the access road to the Miller Building. Park in designated parking area and walk up the small loop to the Miller Building. Those with physical challenges may be dropped off in front of the Miller Building.
