Description: Ijams Beginning to Bird helps you as you take or re-take your first steps into the world of bird watching. This month we are focusing on the fall hawk migration. Join an Ijams Naturalist on a morning bird walk as we practice our hawk and bird I.D. No prior knowledge is required to begin birding!
Materials Participants Should Bring:Â Good walking shoes, water, binoculars (Ijams can provide binoculars as needed), and bird field guide (if you have one you use or like)
Information to Note: This is a bird walk and we will go on trails with roots, rocks, and some elevation change. Arrive ready to walk approximately .75 miles
Directions: We will meet outside the Ijams Visitor Center on the main plaza
No walk-in’s will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult
Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable
