About the Event

In honor of World Turtle Day, Ijams is excited to bring have Michelle Wilson of Little River Wildlife Rehabilitation out for our Take Action: Conservation Conversation on May 23 from 10am-Noon.

Michelle Wilson is a State Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator specializing in reptiles and amphibians. With over a decade of experience caring for captive wildlife, and three years dedicated to rehabilitation, she brings both expertise and passion to her work.

Because wildlife rehabilitators do not receive any funding, they rely on donations from the public. In 2025, Michelle founded Little River Wildlife Rehabilitation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of native reptiles in East Tennessee. The organization is also committed to public education. Come out and meet Michelle and her non-releasable turtle, Benedict Cumberbox,…
