Ijams Blacklight Hike (Family Program)

Ijams Night Hikes are recommended for ages 6 and up

Description: Explore Ijams Nature Center in a new light, Ultraviolet light! Join a naturalist as we explore glowing lichen, search for scorpions, and discover what else might glow in the nocturnal world. UV flashlights will be provided for each participant, and istructions will be given regarding their use. Who knows what we will discover together, maybe even some surprises left by an April Fools jokester. 

Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, flashlight, and weather appropriate clothes

Information to Note: This is a night hike that covers trails with roots and rocks. Participants should be prepared to walk upwards of a mile in low light conditions. As it is April Fools there may be jokes, but no pranks will be allowed meant to harm or frighten participants.

Directions: This Ijams Night Hike meets at the Ijams Nature Center outdoor pavilion at the main parking lot.

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
