Ijams Weed Warriors Native Landscape Certification

What is it?

The Ijams Weed Warriors Native Landscape Certification Program is a public program rooted in the restoration of East Tennessee’s landscapes.

This program gives everyone an opportunity to experience a native Tennessee landscape and create a more welcoming habitat for native flora and fauna through:

  • Education: Educating home and business owners about the negative aspects of invasive plants and how to identify them

  • Invasive Removal: Encouraging them to remove invasive species from their properties

  • Replanting: Motivating the public to replant removed invasives with native species

  • Community Empowerment: Displaying a certified yard sign to foster a sense of community, raise awareness, and create mass change

Program Basics

Program Fee: The $35 program fee includes educational courses, hands-on workdays, a certified yard sign (seen here) and more!

Certification Levels: Through different certification levels, program participants learn about and remove different target invasives, replant native plants in their wake, and restore their yards to a more welcoming habitat for native flora and fauna.

Each level will focus on new species and education requirements, allowing program participants to develop new knowledge and skills.

Once you register for the program, simply complete all requirements (outlined in each level) for your level before moving on to the next!
