QUARRIES AND NATURAL AREAS

Keyhole

Both Mead's Quarry and Ross Marble Natural Area are extensive post-industrial landscapes characterized by ongoing restoration efforts and reclamation. Both sites offer a glimpse into East Tennessee's quarrying past that provided pink marble used in local and national buildings and monuments such as the National Gallery of Art.
