Knox County Schools Fall Break Means Fun at Ijams!

Thursday October 13, 2005
Read about how your child can take advantage of Ijams' School Holiday Camps.

It seems like school has just begun, however students and teachers are ready for the fall break. This year Knox County begins fall break on October 20. It will be a great chance for students to rest, relax and enjoy the season. October 20 is also the first day of Student Holiday Camp at Ijams. Student Holiday Camps are scheduled on school holidays and are an opportunity for kids to spend the day off from school exploring nature, making crafts, seeing animals, playing games and more.                Ijams will offer ten Student Holiday Camps for the 2005-2006 school year. Each day of camp will have a theme that is age and season appropriate. The theme for October 20 is a Fall Festival. Students will hike through the changing forest, collect critters, decorate a pumpkin, make corn husk creations, meet wild animals and play games.                                                                                                                                                                               Parents can register their students for a full day of camp from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or a partial day of camp from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Other camp themes to look forward to this school year are Winter Wizards, Feathered Friends, Eggstravaganza and Flower Power. For more information or to register your child, contact Misty Gladdish, 577-4717 ext. 112.
