Showcases three important specimens

By Pam Petko-Seus

An Exhibit Note: Stop in and see the three beautiful new specimen cases in the exhibit hall showcasing a great horned owl, a wild turkey, and a bobcat.

Thanks to the generous donations of Roy Cebik, the City of Knoxville, Tennessee Operating Partners (Burger King) and SunCoke Energy, we can now display these specimens safely.

Special museum acrylic protects the specimens from the fading effects of ultra-violet light and specialized construction should keep them free of insects. Additionally, a special thank you to our exhibit hall visitors - your donations at work! We are grateful to Mike Stewart of Townsend who donated the beautiful taxidermy mounts of the bobcat and the wild turkey for all to enjoy.  Paul Forsyth from Whetstone Mountain Woodworks and Michael Easterday from Snapvent Plastics, each built their sections of the exhibit in their own workshops. Of course the tops and bottoms of each display came together perfectly, within 1/32 of an inch!  What else could we expect from these two talented craftsmen?

To all we are most grateful!
