Annual fundrasing event celebrates milestones

On Sunday, September 12, at 5 p.m., Ijams Nature Center will host its annual fundraiser, Symphony in the Park, an unique and elegant outdoor event.

Several milestones will be celebrated during the event.  It’s the 25th year of Symphony in the Park, and the 100th Anniversary of the Ijams Family Legacy, when H.P. and Alice Ijams settled on our original 20 acres.

Over 450 guests will enjoy a fabulous auction and cocktails, a delicious meal, and entertainment performed by Maestro Lucas Richman and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. This year's guest artist is Carrie Niceley, great-granddaughter of H.P. and Alice Ijams. Additionally, the Ijams Spirit Award will be presented to Sharon Miller Pryse for her dedication and support of the nature center, other environmental groups, and extraordinary community leadership over the years.

All proceeds benefit Ijams’ quality environmental education programs, 275-acre
wildlife sanctuary and provide care for the non-releasable animals.

Tickets are $125 each or purchase a table for 10 for $1,125 ($125 savings). Sponsorship opportunities are still available. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact Kimberly Womac at 577-4717 ext. 23 or kwomac@ijams.org.
