Sherri Lee honored, David Keith sings

It was a magical mix of music, twilight and nature at Ijams Nature Center's 22nd annual Symphony in the Park outdoor concert. The premier annual event drew over 470 guests and raised $66,000 net. This year's theme was the "Stars Come Out" featuring actor and director, David Keith, as the guest artist.

The evening began with cocktails while guests socialized and viewed over 140 unique silent auction items. Auctioneer, Bear Stephenson, motivated guests to bid during the live auction. Some of the featured items included an original oil painting by local artist, Christopher Terry, a cocktail party for 35 at the Orangery with special guest Pat Summitt, and a framed photograph taken and autographed by Senator Howard H. Baker, Jr. The live auction raised $15,000 in 15 short minutes five.

Sherri Lee was the special honoree for the evening and was presented with an Ijams Spirit Award for her dedication and support of Ijams Nature Center. TrustFirst was the Presenting Sponsor and Stephen and April Harris sponsored the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performance.

After the guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner catered by The Lord Lindsey, they listened to music performed by Maestro Lucas Richman and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Go! Contemporary Dance Works were dressed glamorously in red and danced to "Gershwin in Concert"  and David Keith provided a touching performance, singing "It Had to Be You" and "Daddy's Little Girl," to his young daughter, Presley.

Very special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor TrustFirst.
