Nature Day Camp

Ijams offers a Nature Day Camp on many of the days that Knox County Schools are closed. Summer Day Camp is offered during the months when kids are out on Summer Break. There are also camps offered during Spring Break, Winter Break and many of the Teacher In-Service Days.

At Summer Day Camp, campers are treated to exciting, age appropriate activities for children in grades K-6! Each week will focus on a different aspect of ecology and natural science, but each camp will include a mixture of outdoor explorations, hiking, nature games, animal shows, crafts, experiments, and much more! Campers are lead by professional educators whose numbers meet or exceed American Camping Association staff to camper ratios.

School Holiday Camps allow students in Kindergarten through fifth grade to enjoy a day off from school at Ijams Nature Center. These special programs are designed to enhance what students learn in the classroom even when they have the day off from school! Students explore the trails of Ijams, perform experiments, meet live animals, make crafts, play games and more!
