2010 marked the 100th anniversary of the Ijams Family Legacy. HP and Alice Ijams truly were visionaries a century ago when they purchased 20-acres of undeveloped property and created a Bird Sanctuary in the heart of one of Knoxville's heavily industrialized areas.

With its rich history and longstanding legacy of wildlife experiences, Ijams' visitor and member-supported park and education center continues to enchant visitors of all ages. Check out our calendar of upcoming programs and events or stunning wildlife photo galleries to inspire your next visit!
